Killing Me Softly

by on May.26, 2004, under My personal dribble

Geocaching - May 26 010.jpgSaw this buddy today while revisiting the cache from hell after recieving confirmation on where it was supposed to be. I checked all possible locations according to the further information and it was still not there. Expecting the whole trip to be a wash though I brought the big camera and the digital with me. This picture is one of the digitals I got today. This little birdy would not move. I literally was able to get within 3 feet of him without him getting very spooked. Alot more pictures of him in the Gallery.

I also got alot of great pictures with the big camera today, but it is going to take a few days to get the film developed. While I was there I saw a gator come ashore with a turtle in it’s mouth that it was trying to eat. I took a whole role of photos of him, I hope some came out good…

The end of Geocaching???

by on May.25, 2004, under My personal dribble

pavillion.jpgI think it might be getting close to time for me to quit geocaching. I don’t seem to understand the new geocachers that are out there just hiding caches anywhere with not a care in the world. This picture is from a recent geocache I just went to find. I checked all the logical and illogical areas. Also because the cacher who hid this one is usually 30 feet to 1/2 mile off(Yes… Don’t ask how.. but he did it once).. I checked all the surrounding areas. I was looking for a clear 35mm container and it was no where. To make matters even worst, this cache is hidden within 500 feet of another cache. The previous cacher had enough smarts to know the environment couldn’t handle a micro cache so he made his a virtual cache. There’s just more and more of these caches where something is just thrown together at the last minute, hidden just anywhere, and then disappears after two finds. It’s enough to make me want to stop doing them altogether and find another hobby to get me outdoors…

Simple Math Problems

by on May.24, 2004, under My personal dribble

giant_swallowtail.jpgWell, I have a “Simple Math Problem” for you all to do. It’s quite an interesting little problem that requires some abstract thinking to get it.

I’m sure there are alot of you out there who will get it faster than me. But I got it on my third guess.

I should of read this first…

keyboard.jpgDaily work (by Astrology.com)
Acting provokes a reaction. Office politics resemble the animal kingdom. Wouldn’t you rather elevate the level of discourse here? Your strong personal influence is more likely to have positive results when you aim it at the right thing.

If only I had read that before I came into work today.. My outlook might have been better. But alas, the animal kingdom politics has gotten to me and now I’m in a grumpy mood for at least the rest of the day.

Lamaze Class Pt. 2

by on May.17, 2004, under My personal dribble

Well, we went to our second lamaze class and this one was better. Alot less wife rubbing involved.. ;)

In fact, the husbands actually got a massage during it and we even got to pinch the wives really hard to simulate contractions for them to practice breathing through.. Besides that we spent most the night learning all the things that a man didn’t ever want to know about birthing and some toys to bring with you to help relax you and bring your mind off of the process.

Lamaze class

by on May.10, 2004, under My personal dribble

So Laura and I had our very first Lamaze class the other day. Let me give you fellow gentlemen out there a warning.. DONT GO.. Basically, all Lamaze appears to be so far is a four hour massage fest. It’s a way that women trick us guys into having to give them four hours of massages once a week. They call it Birthing techniques, but they are really just massages to make the woman feel all better. The worst part is the class is set up in a way to tease the man into thinking that there will be something beneficial for him also.. Perfect example, one technique had the woman in the chair and the guy on the floor. Following, this they tell the guys to get in the chairs and the women on the floor on their knees facing you. Perfect position for a little rest and relaxation for the guys.. but no, they even turn this sacred position into a back massage for the woman.

In short, if you make the first mistake of knocking someone up.. Don’t make the second mistake of going to lamaze class…

**********

Now that all the macho talk is done. We did learn some pretty interesting and helpful things at the class, and alot of things that put our minds more at ease about this whole birthing thing that is coming up…
